Living Room Book Case Update

Not sure If anyone remembers my book case, hand made from oak keg pallets from Miller Brewing Company, my previous employer. (Link for the curious on how it was made.) Well here is a quick update on the books that have found their way in there over the last few years.

Book case dimensions: 15.5 feet long by 8.35 feet high by 18 inch depth. Holds 3 rows of paperbacks per shelf, or two hardbacks. 36 books per row, 3 deep, with some stacked on top and piled in front. Runs the whole length of my living room, end to end. The TV pictured is 70 inches, for scale.

  1. Awesome collection. Now I wish I had kept my 1000+ fantasy/scifi paperbacks... oh well.

  2. Your posting on identifying first edition/printing of Dune has been most informative.
I see that you haven't written new posting for years now. Did you completely stop collecting or have you taken your blogging to other venue?

    Curious to know!

    1. I guess I do owe everyone an update seeing as I’m still getting visitors and comments.

New job, had to move. Books packed up in storage with the exception of two small bookcases. Paired down Hard covers and less desirable paperbacks to a reseller. Bought some more books from a collection last year and moved them to storage. Not actively collecting at the moment due to living space, but I know what I own and check prices and market value. And if something interesting comes up I dream about buying it but rarely ever pull the trigger anymore. Last book I bought was in 2019 and it was a first/first Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep for less than $30.
